SUMMARY of DUTIES

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is responsible for all aspects of clinic and mobile clinical program operations and for overseeing designated administrative functions. Assures that the organization's philosophy and mission statement are practiced throughout all clinical services. The Chief Clinical Officer is responsible for the overall executive oversight and supervision of the program, services, staff and volunteers.


SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Executive responsibility for program development, budget development and implementation, compliance with external accountability sources, program monitoring, maintaining the highest of standards for treatment and continuous quality improve­ment.

2. Executive oversight of the financial management of all clinical programs.

3. Communicate, execute, and sustain clinical strategic initiatives.

4. Translate strategies into actionable and concrete action plans.

5. Establish and execute new clinical protocols and practices, assure all standards of care are followed, and assure staff receive and utilize advanced training opportunities.

6. Partner with the Chief Innovation Officer to ensure that key clinical metrics are established, collected, analyzed and utilized to drive improvement and change in programs.

7. Partner with the Chief Innovation Officer to create and maintain practice management activities that are effective and sustained in all clinical programs.

8. Executive oversight of all integration of care initiatives to ensure team-based care models are implemented across clinical programs.

9. Raise the profile, internally and externally, of the agency’s implementation of substance use disorder services.

10. Executive oversight of substance use disorder services with a commitment to establishing and sustaining Medication Assisted Treatment Services.

11. Partner with the Chief Planning Officer and assist with writing grants for new lines of business.

12. Participate in developing external relationships to ensure new opportunities for innovation and program expansion.

13. Represent agency by participating in relevant community meetings.

  1. Follow established agency policies and maintain the highest professional standards.

  2. Establish and maintain a culture that is recovery oriented, trauma informed and grounded in service excellence.

16. Provide supervision, mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews for all direct reports.

Responsible for adhering to all standards and guidelines established by applicable regulatory authorities i.e. OMH and DCMH.

Other related duties as guided by Chief Operating Officer.

10. The Chief Clinical Officer must have excellent skills utilizing Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record systems.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. The Chief Clinical Officer shall be an experienced mental health professional as defined by Part 585 of the OHM regulations. i.e. LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or Psychologist.

  2. The CCO must have at least 5 years’ experience in upper management level positions.

  3. Advanced computer skills in word process­ing, spreadsheets and data base management are desired.

  4. The CCO must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  5. Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

  6. The CCO must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier.

  7. The CCO must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification.

  8. The CCO must be cleared by the NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search.

  9. The CCO must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services for instances of child abuse and/or neglect.

  10. CCO must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
