HOURS: Part-time, Monday-Thursday, 9AM-12PM

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Guidance Center of Westchester, Center for College & Careers (CCC) supports college-bound and at at-risk youth to obtain their high school equivalency diploma, pursue post-secondary education, and/or start a career path. Through individualized support, college and career workshops, and vocational training opportunities, the CCC helps participants develop skills and confidence to learn, work, and thrive as active members in the community. The High School Equivalency Instructor will support the CCC at New Rochelle High School (NRHS). Our CCC program at New Rochelle High School is seeking an HSE instructor to teach an HSE class for students, ages 17-24 years old. The goal of the class is to prepare students to take the HSE and score a passing grade on the exam so that they will be prepared to enter college, advanced skills training workshops, and/or employment. Instruct all TASC/HSE content and subjects Create individualized TASC/HSE plan with students Administer multiple forms of assessment and use these assessments to inform lesson planning and day to day instructional strategies Provide differentiated instruction to a wide range of learners Maintain a classroom environment that is stimulating and supports individual and group learning Collect and maintain documentation of services and outcomes per student Develop and maintain student profiles Work collaboratively with the team at NRHS and the CCC to support students’ needs
Provide additional academic support resources such as tutoring in specific subjects Complete any relevant responsibilities and functions as assigned by supervisor and/or director
SALARY: Commensurate with Experience
