Registered Nurse - The Guidance Center of Westchester


PROGRAM: The Guidance Center of Westchester’s Sunrise Program

HOURS: Part-Time (up to 7 hours a week) Sunrise Outpatient Treatment Program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:  A valid RN license in state of NY.  Current BLS CPR certification.  Two year of recent and direct experience in Substance Use.  Must Successfully Pass Criminal and Background Checks, NYS Justice Center Registry Clearance and Finger printing will be done prior to employment.  Familiarity with OASAS standards a plus  Able to train on the dispensing of Narcan a plus

SKILLS:  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and can multitask.  Be able to critically think in a crisis.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Ability to pay close attention to detail  Ability to run Educational groups  Computer literacy required The Sunrise team works with adults and adolescents who have a history of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. The staff is multidisciplinary, composed of a Medical Director/Psychiatrist, Program Director and licensed clinical staff. The Nurse will work as part of the multidisciplinary team at Sunrise. The Nurse will assist the Medical Director in regards’ to assisting with physical and health assessments. The Nurse will also serve as healthcare Coordinator and Infection Control/Prevention Coordinator for the program. The Nurse will help with PPD and HIV testing for participants. The Nurse may run health related groups for participants.
